giveaway: cinnamon bears

yep. another giveaway.
because it's love month.
and i love love month.

it has come to my attention that the term cinnamon bear isn't necessarily readily identifiable. to some, a cinnamon bear only resides in the imagination. such a shame. believe me, those bears are oh so chewy cinnamoney sweet and, as it turns out, hard to come by. so when i found them on sale at my local grocery store, i came home with ten packages. after seeing dan's quizzical brow i gave the speech i had prepared, i am on a mission to spread cinnamon bear goodness worldwide. plus they were on mega sale. practically every gal i know loves these li'l bears. i would sell them by the pound if i could manage the wholesale property rights and the temptation of having bears bombard my workspace. but instead i plan to mail each package to a blog pal. so i give you a cinnamon bear giveaway in honor of valentine's day.

comment here and please tell me your favorite chick flick romance movie. i'll pick one random comment on valentine's day and ship the bears straight to the winner. the first package went to my new friend, summer who loves to list, write and create. she emails me with good questions, delisch recipes and nice words.

oh so beary sweet.

Love Actually

PS Cinnamon bears don't even exist in Chicago, and you don't know how many times I've brought that up in conversation just this week!

Cinnamon bears? I've never heard tell! And I love all things cinnamon. We have a candy here in the Maritimes at Christmas called chicken bones; it's a hard cinnamon outer shell with melty chocolate innards, and it is my all-time favourite candy. So I think that cinnamon bears might be lovely, too! Movie? Definitely Love Actually. :)

Gaping plot holes and I don't even like Keanu Reeves that much, but lately I want to watch The Lake House every day. When I think about him waiting for her for so long....well, my heart just melts.

I generally try to cut down the candy consumption, but my own personal rule is that if I ever see cinammon bears on sale, I'll buy 'em.

I recently saw The Wedding Date and I thought it was sweet. Dermot Mulroney was so yummy in that movie!

amy said...

Cinnamon Bears! Those are the Cadbury Mini Eggs of Valentines Day!
It's a toss up between When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless In Seattle. I'll never get tired of watching either one.

Oh my gosh, I LOVE cinnamon bears! I buy them in a local grocery store's bulk candy section...and in fact, I bought them every week the last month of my pregnancy. :) (And BYU's bookstore had the best chocolate covered cinnamon bears...I've missed those since leaving Utah.)

My favorite chick flick is probably While You Were Sleeping...so many funny quotes. :)

Love love your blog. My favorite chick flick is You've Got Mail. "A hot dog is singing! You need quiet while a hot dog is singing?!"

You've already heard my sad story concerning the bears.

i can't believe you found those! i haven't seen cinnamon bears in years! i'm now on a mission to find them in northern california! i'm not a HUGE rom-com fan... does breakfast at tiffany's count?

I must say "P.S. I Love You" is my favorite chick-flicky romance movie!

I watched it a few weeks after I married my husband (he was out at a boys' night baseball game) and I sobbed the entire time.

The worst part is, he thought I was crazy when he walked in and saw my puffy sobbing face!

Loved it and hated it all in one package--It reminded me to appreciate Dustin always (even through the law school years), because you never know what might happen.

I've never seen cinnamon bears, but they look delicious!

I love How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. And it's the only chick flick that I have watched with a boyfriend and had him say to me "that actually wasn't that bad" at the end.

Anneliese said...

does holiday inn count as a romantic, chick flick? i think it is just the greatest movie...ever! ♥

Whatever Dee-Dee wants said...

Love Actually is at the top of my list! I could (and do) watch it over and over again.
I love cinnamon bears! Sometimes I even dip them in white chocolate.

Unknown said...

you and summer are bloggy twins.

moulin rouge.

Unknown said...

i've never had - or heard - of cinnamon bears. ever. but they sound (and look!) delicious.

my favourite chick flick is most definitely sliding doors...not just because it's got the whole scottish accent romance thing going on (AND with gwyneth!) but because she's got such spectacular character development throughout the movie... not to mention that the ending isn't just based on a happily-ever-after type thing.. it's an ending that gives you hope.

i heart hope.

I don't know of these cinnamon bears you talk of! They sound tasty! My fave has to be the Sex ans The City movie. Romance plus fashion plus nyc.

what a great you are for sending summer her little valentine package! my favorite chick flick- never been kissed. my nerdyness relates.

what a cute idea a valentine giveaway of cinnamoney goodness. favorite movie 16 candles, sister of the traveling pants.....
and happy valentines day to you and your new little love on his first valentines day.

Alisha Stamper said...

wow, there is only one mention of sliding doors, which is surprising. i must say, i don't personally consider movies where they call each other profanities or mistreat each other "good movies" and i certainly don't want that type of behavior attributed to things my gender likes. So i love the good ones, guys who are awesome and totally love the girl, like Say Anything.

p.s. my husband loves cinnamon bears.

{amy k.} said...

I knew there were so many reasons we'd make good friends!

I LOVE these things- especially when they're covered in chocolate. I can't find them anywhere out here in FL- I've searched high and low!!!

My fav chick flick- that's a hard one but I'm a big fan of how to loose a guy in 10 days.

what's yours?!

Fav chick flick: Love Actually

Anonymous said...

Oh, goodness, definitely You've Got Mail. I love the whole I-hate-you-oh-wait-I-love-you thing the movie has going on. Plus, Meg Ryan + Tom Hanks = simply adorable. And, unlike Sleepless in Seattle (which is also adorable), they actually get to see each other for more than 10 seconds at a time. Good news!

Jen said...

I like Ever After and Clueless.

I have never had a cinnamon bear but I'm intrigued.

MollieB said...

I love PS I love you as a chick flick...well, mostly as a chick flick when I'm spending the night by myself because it's sad, I can have a good healthy cry (because I really feel like it truly is 'healthy' to have a good cry once in a while), and appreciate my loved one when he finally returns.

Hillary said...

Pride and Prejudice...the new one with keira knightly.

Anonymous said...

I can't believe people haven't heard of cinnamon bears. they were a childhood (and much of adulthood) staple.

I really like Love Actually, but I saw that mentioned several times as I zipped through the comments. And then I realized that Pride and Prejudice ranks just as high for me if not higher. I like the 6 hour long one, but especially the newer movie - just because I can get the same swooney feelings from the story in a much shorter time.

brooke said...

First--let me congratulate you on your impeccable taste in treats--cinnamon bears are so choice. My favorite chic flicks are When Harry Met Sally--every time it comes on I have to watch the whole thing--and the Notebook.

I've never even seen cinnamon bears before. How cute, and what a great color. Wish I had Cinnamon Bear-Colored Lipstick.

Favorite chick flick: "The Cutting Edge" (1992), no question about it. I've seen it a million times. Whatever happened to DB Sweeney? So cute.

LKV said...

My favorite chick flick/romantic movie has to be Dirty Dancing!

Also I have not had cinnamon bears in literally AGES and i had forgotten all about them until I saw your post! An elderly neighbor of mine as a child, appropriately named Mr. Goodman, would often repay me and my sisters in candy for helping him carry his bags into the house with selections from his candy dish. And it was the best candy dish- it included Brach's jelly nougats and cinnamon bears. Wow, what a flashback just thinking about cinnamon bears has caused!

Karen said...

Cinnamon bears are impossible to come by here. The french have a dramatic aversion to cinnamon. For the chick flick I would go with Love Actually. I love that the story takes place during Noel but it's so sweet you can watch it year round.

It's late to be trying to win some cinnamon bears, but I found your blog when I got desperate enough to do an online search for the hard to come by bears. I took it for granted that the grocery stores ALWAYS had them! I never thought for a second they'd be hard to find. But here I am calling every store in the area trying to track some down! You really nailed it on the head with this one, and you're not crazy to buy 10 bags!
