oh baby.

are there words for the way you feel before you deliver a baby? if so, they are not in this girl's pocket. i want to record how i feel, but i've found it's near close impossible. i just lay on my pillow when the sun rises through the slats of our blinds and i suddenly remember about my boy and the belly. and the closeness of his due date and smile with contentment. that this is all happening. i am unbelievably excited and giddy and nervous and calm and mostly just supremely happy. the feeling i feel is blessed.

though after all our nine months of preparations, i can still scarcely believe a li'l baby is going to enter this world. our world. and he's going to be ours. wow. that's huge. so grandly complex and yet so simple too.

any day now he'll arrive and he'll be right here in my arms. and i'll have become a mama. anticipating this event is truly so thrilling. i wish i could find the words to describe it. this elation. this joy of being on the ledge of life. kind of like the week before christmas when you were six years old, times that by one thousand, but still, it's way better than that.

and when i call anyone and they see the caller id and they lift up the phone with expectation in their voice, it's a pretty sweet thing to hear; this joy is contagious. and he's not even outside of me yet. i can hardly wait to meet him and witness his introduction to the world and yet i'm soaking up each itty bitty moment before he arrives. and cleaning like crazy and listening to a lot of canon in d. (and yes, don't worry, i'm getting some rest too.)

My niece was born a week and a half ago and I got to spend a few days holding her. Wow, wow, wow. It was such an awesome feelings and the maternal instincts were coming out like crazy.

You still look SO adorable! Pregnancy definitely agrees with you. Was the picture of the shadow taken on a different day than the first picture? You look like you have dropped in the shadow picture-a sure sign that things are moving into place!

Your nursery looks so welcoming, Min! It's so great to have those nesting instincts boost your house cleaning energy! I can't believe you are already at 39 weeks! Way to go. Each day he is inside does wonders for his development. I'm so excited for you!

It's true about the fun, expectant tone in people's voices when they pick up your phone call. My sister is having Baby #3 any day now. And the best part is that I know if she's having a boy or girl, but she doesn't! It's my secret -- well, mine, Baby's and the ultrasound tech's.

beautiful photos. you are the picture of an expecting mama!

*I love canon in D. great choice of music to listen to!*

A friend of mine heard that when you are close to/entering labor...you want to cozy up your nest..so you clean like crazy - those deep cleaning jobs that usually get put off.

Well...she knew it would happen close to labor, and wanted labor to happen, so she began a cleaning frenzy - to bring on labor already!

I smiled at my friend and her logic. But it really wasn't long until she really did have her son!

I'm sure it won't be long for you either!!

My son was born a month early and I have always thought I was SO glad to have skipped that last month of long forever waiting... but this was such a beautifully written perspective, it kinda makes me hope the second one someday decides to take its time :)

I think I'm more excited than you...if that is possible.

Probably because I don't have that whole labor and delivery thing hanging over my head.
